Para empezar... estoy comprometida! Ya sé que muchos sabían esto, pero no había tenido tiempo de compartirlo en mi Blog. Mateo me vino a visitar por unos días en Enero y me llevó a celebrar nuestro aniversario a un café. Se me propuso de una manera tan tierna e íntima... por supuesto le dije que sí. Me hace muy feliz el saber que voy a compartir el resto de mi vida con un hombre que ama a Dios y busca su rostro cada día. Hemos tenido nuestras diferencias y problemas en nuestra relación, pero los hemos sobrepasado con el amor y poder del Espíritu Santo y estamos emocionados por servir a Dios y a otros juntos.
El semestre pasado fue uno fácil comparado con otros. No me permití dormir menos de 4 horas ninguna noche, y reducí el número de actividades en las que participo. Ahora sí tuve la oportunidad de disfrutar mis clases y dedicarles más tiempo a a mis tareas y las actividades en las que sí participo. También, el semestre pasado fue mi último semestre de primavera en Dordt. Después de mi boda, me voy a mudar a Chattanooga, Tennessee con mi novio (ahora vivo en Iowa). Me comencé a dar cuenta de que mi tiempo en Dordt se está acabando. Este semestre que viene va a ser mi último semestre en Dordt... me da un poco de nervios pensar que en un año me voy a estar preparando para empezar a enseñar mi propia clase. No sé como lo voy a hacer ¡porque todavía siento que no sé nada! jaja. Pero estoy muy emocionada por ser usada por Dios para ser una muestra de amor y paciencia en la vida de mis alumnos.
Este verano estuve trabajando en el departamento de química en la universidad. Una compañera y yo estuvimos ayudando a nuestro profesor a escribir manuales de laboratorio para dos clases. Y aunque algunos días son muy lentos...me divierto mucho con mi compañera y otros estudiantes que están trabajando en la universidad. He estado orando para que Dios me muestre como puedo ser luz aún cuando no interactúo con muchas personas en mi trabajo.
Ahora voy a empezar mi cuarta semana de este semestre. Hasta ahora, todas mis clases me encantan y estoy emocionada por comenzar mis observaciones en un salón este semestre. Aún no he tenido la oportunidad de enseñar en un salón de preparatoria, así que estoy un poco nerviosa, pero confío en que Dios me dará el poder y sabiduría para saber cómo enseñar y atender a cada estudiante.
Este semestre también estoy trabajando como voluntario en la biblioteca pública. Los sábados soy una mentora voluntaria para ayudar a niños a aprender a leer. Me gusta mucho aunque es un trabajo que requiere mucha paciencia. Espero aprender mucho y también ser un instrumento de Dios para los niños que ayude.
Por favor recuérdenme en sus oraciones. Aquí hay algunas razones por las que pueden orar por mí:
- Paciencia y tiempo para relajarme durante este semestre
- Confianza en que Dios proveerá para Matthew y yo. Matthew sigue buscando otro trabajo.
- Por aprender más de Dios cada día.

Hello everyone!
For starters ... I'm engaged! I know that almos everyone knows this, but I hadn't had time to share it on my blog. Matthew came to visit me for a few days in January and took me to celebrate our anniversary at a cafe. He askek me in a sweet and intimate way ... of course I said yes. It makes me very happy to know that I will share the rest of my life with a man who loves God and who seeks his face every day. We've had our differences and problems in our relationship, but we have surpassed them in the love and power of the Holy Spirit and we are excited to serve God and others together.
Last semester was an easy one compared to others. I did not let myself sleep less than 4 hours at night, and I reduced the number of activities in which I participate. Now I was able to enjoy my classes and spend more time with my tasks and other activities in which I participate. Also, last semester was my last spring semester at Dordt. After my wedding, I am moving to Chattanooga, Tennessee with my fiance (now I live in Iowa). I began to realize that my time at Dordt is ending. This next semester will be my last semester at Dordt... I get a little nervous when I think that in a year I'll be ready to start teaching my own class. I do not know how I'm going to do it because I still feel that I know nothing! haha. But I'm very excited to be used by God to be an instrument of love and patience in the lives of my students.
This summer I worked in the department of chemistry at Dordt. A frien and I were helping our teacher writing lab manuals for two classes. And though some days are very slow ... I had so much fun with my partner and other students who are working at the university. I prayed for God to show me how I could be light even when I did not interact with many people at my work. I hope that is reflected in the curriculum I developed.
Now I will start my fourth week of this semester. So far, I love all my classes and I am excited to begin my practicum in a classroom this semester. I haven't had the opportunity to teach in a high school classroom, so I'm a little nervous, but I trust that God will give me the power and wisdom to know how to teach and care for each student.
This semester I am also working as a volunteer at the public library. On Saturdays I volunteer as a mentor to help children learn to read. I really like it although it is a job that requires a lot of patience. I hope to learn much and also be an instrument of God for children to help.
